Gary says “I drew Bracken as a present for my partner
Dave’s Mum in the mid 1980’s. I
was pleased with the results at the time. In 2002 I decided to update the
drawing and bring it out as a print.
“I
was particularly happy with the wind swept fur around the neck which has a
spongy feel to it and the delicate, deer-like expression of the face. The new
version definitely captured Bracken's character and textures much better.
"I
dedicated the print of her much loved Bracken to Barbara Currey, Dave’s now
late Mother.”
