This drawing of a Greater Kudu calf was drawn in 1991 and updated by Gary in March 2020. He spent many days carefully drawing embellishments to elevate it to his 2020 standards. He's really pleased with the transformation... it's now a lot more detailed, furrier and 'alive'.

HERE'S THE BACK STORY FROM GARY ... "a lovely person recently sent me some photos of their collection of my pictures. It included a sweet drawing of a kudu calf that I forgot I'd drawn!

"How could that happen you may ask? Well they bought the original way back in 1991 from my first major show in central London. The exhibition was a huge deal for me and I drew morning, noon and night to get as many originals ready for it. If my memory serves me correct, this was the last drawing I created and I didn't manage to photograph it before giving it to my framers first thing the next morning.

"Fast forward almost 30 years, I have just borrowed the drawing back and spent over three days carefully drawing embellishments to elevate it to my 2020 standards. I'm really pleased with the transformation... it's now a lot more detailed, furrier and 'alive'.

"I think it's a VERY appealing drawing, conjuring up memories of Bambi; sparkling eyes, long gangly legs, white fluffy tail and huge velvety ears."
