THE PERFECT PRINTERS FOR PENCIL

I recently used a new giclee printers called Art4site... and they were absolutely brilliant. I would really recommend them to any artist. I spent the best part of a day with them, while they did scanning, artwork and various proofs and left feeling very confident. Four days later as planned, I received my prints perfectly packed and ready for me to sign and number. It all went so smoothly, something in my recent past that just hadn't been the case with printers. The last lithographic printers I used three years ago damaged an original of mine and left me quite damaged too! I'm so pleased to find a friendly printing company I feel comfortable with and I can trust. My latest pencil drawing THE INCREDIBLE JOURNEY was printed by Art4site. I first put pencil to paper nearly five years ago, sketching out what had been a vague idea floating around in my mind. It was inspired by a scene I witnessed at Lady Elliot Island on the Great Barrier Reef in 2010. But it took a trip to the Maldives and visiting our local beach on Ibiza for more references, to make these ideas fall into place as I had imagined in my mind.

The reason the drawing took so long was partly down to fear, as I was working on new textures, like foam and sand that I hadn't attempted before. Also much of the picture was drawn from my imagination, with a huge array of 28 various photos of turtle hatchlings, waves and sand patterns to supplement this. I felt quite exhausted by the time I'd completed the drawing last month but so pleased I'd pushed my boundaries further than ever. Finding Art4site for this special drawing was the icing on the cake. I've made an important new working relationship, one I hope will continue for many years. You can buy the signed limited edition from the shop.
